So, the first thing to do is measure your neck.
How?
Take a tailor’s measuring tape, or a flexible tape measure (even the paper one from IKEA works great) and wrap it around your neck, starting from the zero mark. The number that meets the other end of the tape indicates the circumference of your neck.
This way, by following the chart above, you'll have a useful reference point:
Is your neck larger than 35 cm?
Then you should consider buying a longer necklace if you want the same visual effect.
Is your neck slimmer than 35 cm?
Then you should consider a shorter chain than those indicated in the chart.
But if you really want to be sure you’re choosing the right necklace length, here’s what I recommend:
Take a piece of string (even kitchen twine will do), or a ribbon from an old gift (don’t tell me you throw them all away... they can always be reused!), or I’m sure you have a ball of yarn or cotton somewhere... go on, have a look. I’m sure you’ve found something. Now stand in front of a mirror and try “wearing” the string/ribbon/twine as if it were a necklace.
Be sure to factor in the space that a pendant or charm would take up.
Once you’re happy with the result, just measure the length of the string using a measuring tape. This will help you choose the necklace that best suits your needs. If the length you have in mind isn’t available in our shop, feel free to contact us via WhatsApp — we’ll work with you to find the right solution. Most of our necklaces can be made to measure.
